for background music think 'under the pink'

good evening everyone, well a lot happens in two weeks, no? I'll tell, as I always do, the important things first.

well I saw some incredible things on the web today that made me feel not only that this site needs complete redesigning, but that this site, extraordinarily brilliant to me only days ago, is only infantile crap. depressing, yes? well tomorrow I'll probably feel different about the value of this site, but a redesigning is most likely coming even though this basic design is less than 2 months old and has evolved to an incredible extent from it first appearance those 2 months ago. Perhaps I'll dream of a layout tonight, who knows?

To spite me further, before my humbling experience with true brilliance I had done much for the online version of my site today (there are two main versions: the online version and my hard drive version. the online version is limited to 6mb of space. the hard drive version uses over 40mb, so the main difference is the availability of media files, and a lack of a back ground for the 'body' pages) fixing all the video and sound pages on this site (making it much closer to the hard drive version), though unless you have a t1 connection I wouldn't wait for the videos to load, but instead just download them.

You know this site isn't so bad in comparison most of the web's pages, but its no quiet so extraordinary to me anymore. this line of thought is only in exploring the layout and user interface, not the content, just so you know.

Anyway, I presented this site to 14 comatose high schoolers Thursday morning in preparation for the big exhibition due to happen June 3rd. I used one of my schools windows NT machines and a very nice, very expensive projector (that made my page be displayed on a thirteen foot surface) to create a notable experience for my drooling audience. The presentation went very well and with a few refinements in my style it will be brilliant. I got all the green lights on this one.

Well in addition to all that other stuff I finally saw the bulk of blade runner (the director's cut) all the way though. I have an horrible time with watching videos; I find myself physically incapable of sitting and watching any video all the way though, even my absolutely favorite ones (I also have a problem with watching movies in the theaters). I usually will just go do nothing somewhere else for a while then return to watch a bit then go away again. I think I saw almost all of it, enough to understand that ridley Scott's purpose was to show the importance of life in a way different from and to me even more compelling than Phillip k. dick did in, do androids dream of electric sheep? (the novel blade runner was based on) though I may feel this way because the director's cut is so intense and unlike the book had lots and lots of pictures (I'm a sucker for pretty) and much more thought provoking than my usual brand of entertainment.

On that note I finally finished the stand by Stephen king. it took me nearly 3 months to finish that monster. and I was so bored with it that I read three books and many short stories while trudging though it. I'd read it before bed to promote falling asleep faster. To be fair I felt the story had some pretty great parts in it, but they where far overshadowed by the length of it, he may be trying for verbose, but I find it to be a cheap watered down version of good, like someone had a perfect glass of juice but thought that in order for others to appreciate it they'd have to add enough water to make a gallon of juice. it would have been much better if only it was 500 pages shorter. his problem is that he tried too hard to entertain the casual reader instead of following his theme in a loyal and true way where the natural order of human influence was explored without all the attempts at a soap opera like expansion of trivial details, though I did like the part featuring the kid and that wasn't necessary at all.

there is so much more to mention perhaps I'll get to it tomorrow... maybe, till then I'll sleep.
